Audition – Project: Greek Chorus

Can you imagine what would happen if we combined the idea of the Ancient Greek Chorus with Improv Theatre? The chorus as an all-knowing persona that comments on and broadens the perspective of the characters and the world presented in the show. A chorus that might intervene in the action on stage, guides the audience and actors through it, and overwatches the catharsis. And does it all by improvisation?

In this one-semester course project we will explore combining classical theatre with contemporary improv and scenes, focusing both on the hive-minded chorus with movement, declamations and singing, and on playing believable and engaging scenes, stories and characters.

Prerequisite: We are looking for improvisers with experience of playing longform, preferably with a good sense of rhythm and music.
